Comic Book Condition & Grading Policy
Comic Book Condition & Grading Policy – B Cubed and Beyond
At B Cubed and Beyond, we understand that comic book condition is extremely important to collectors. We take great care in evaluating and packaging each comic book to ensure customers receive accurate listings and well-protected products.
Grading Standards
Comic books are graded based on widely accepted collector grading guidelines used throughout the comic book marketplace. While grading is somewhat subjective, we strive to provide honest and consistent condition descriptions for every item we sell.
Common Condition Categories
Near Mint (NM)
A comic that appears almost perfect. Minor manufacturing imperfections may be present but are barely noticeable. Pages are clean with strong color and minimal wear.
Very Fine (VF)
A well-preserved comic with only minor signs of handling or wear. Slight corner stress or small spine ticks may be visible but do not significantly impact the book’s appearance.
Fine (FN)
A comic that shows moderate wear from reading or storage. This may include small creases, light spine wear, or slight cover stress but remains a solid collectible copy.
Very Good (VG)
A comic with visible signs of wear such as creases, spine stress, or minor cover wear. The comic is still complete and readable.
Good (G)
A well-read comic that shows noticeable wear including creases, small tears, or spine damage, but the book remains intact and readable.
Bagging and Protection
Most comics sold by B Cubed and Beyond are:
- Placed in protective comic bags
- Supported with backing boards
- Packaged securely using Gemini mailers or protective boxing
This helps maintain the condition of the comic during storage and shipping.
Listing Accuracy
We do our best to provide accurate descriptions and clear photos whenever possible. If a comic has notable defects (creases, spine ticks, tears, etc.), we will disclose them in the listing description.
Collector Transparency
Because comic grading can be subjective, grades listed by B Cubed and Beyond should be considered our best professional estimate unless the comic has been officially graded by a third-party grading company.
